Parent Partnerships

Parent Partnerships

At Hillside, we are deeply committed to fostering strong partnerships with our parents. We recognise that building a robust home-school connection is essential for the success of our students, and it remains one of our top priorities.

At the beginning of the school year, we invite parents to attend information and orientation sessions designed to equip them with the tools they need to support their child's learning journey. Throughout the year, we also offer a range of workshops—details of which can be found in our regular newsletters.

We believe in maintaining open lines of communication regarding your child's progress. Scheduled private parent-teacher conferences provide opportunities to discuss achievements and areas for growth. If needed, additional meetings can be arranged at any time, ensuring that both parents and teachers are aligned in supporting each child's development. Progress updates are provided through reports on each Unit of Inquiry, as well as through class blogs and our weekly parent eNewsletters, accessible via the ESF app.

We actively encourage parents to engage in our volunteer programme, which is a fantastic way to strengthen our partnership. We welcome all “important adults” in a child's life—parents, grandparents, and caregivers—to participate in various opportunities, including:

  • Parent Experts: Share your knowledge or skills with our students.
  • Community Play Visitors: Join us during playtime to enrich the experience.
  • Mystery Readers/Storytellers: Surprise our children by reading a favourite story.
  • Shared Learning Days: Collaborate with us in hands-on learning activities.
  • Special Festival Helpers: Assist in celebrating cultural events.
  • Excursion/Incursion Helpers: Join us on trips or help with in-school activities.

These opportunities will be introduced throughout the school year, reinforcing our commitment to working closely with all families.

At Hillside, we value your involvement as we work together to support your child's education and growth.
