Amber Rainstorm / Typhoon No. 1

 Kindergarten sessions will continue as normal unless the Education Bureau (EDB) announces otherwise.

Red or Black Rainstorm

Please refer to the EDB Rainstorm Warning Leaflet.

Morning session

If the warning is issued from 5.30am to 8.00am the kindergarten will close for the AM session.

 

If the warning is issued from 8.00am onwards the AM session will continue until the end of normal school hours. We will ensure that conditions are safe before allowing students to return home.

 

Afternoon session (Pending EDB confirmation, we will inform parents no later than 11.00am)

 

If the warning is lowered before 10.30am, the PM session will usually proceed, and the school buses will operate (unless EDB announces otherwise).

 

If the warning is issued or still in place at 10.30am onwards and before 12.30pm, the PM session will be suspended and the kindergarten will remain closed all day.

 

If the warning is issued from 12.30pm onwards the PM session will continue until the end of normal school hours. We will ensure that conditions are safe before allowing students to return home.

 

All children will remain at Hillside under the care of staff until the end of the session or when conditions improve. Parents (or designated adults, with parental permission) can choose to collect their child at Hillside if they wish. As per ESF Safety Policy, buses will only operate when the signal has been lowered to the Amber Rain warning. If the Red Rain signal is still in force by home time, the buses will not operate, and all parents will need to arrange to collect their children from Hillside.

Typhoon No. 3 or

No. 8

The kindergarten will be suspended for the session (morning or afternoon).

If a T3 or T8 signal is issued or still in place at 10.30am, the afternoon session will be suspended and the kindergarten will remain closed all day.

 

If the signal is lowered to T1 before 10.30am, the afternoon session will proceed as usual and the school buses will operate (unless EDB announces otherwise).
